About The Position

This is a full-time position responsible for picking customer orders directly from primary product locations and boxing them for shipping. The role requires maintaining high accuracy by verifying information on location labels and customer packing lists, and utilizing a voice-directed picking system. The position also involves ensuring the quality and proper packing of orders, including fragile and liquid items, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Employees are expected to meet company standards for quantity and quality of work and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.
Lift, carry or move products up to 0-10 lb. frequent.
Lift, carry or move products 11-20 lb. occasional.
Walk on concrete floors frequently.
Gripping, pushing, pulling and fine hand manipulation continuously.
Twist or bend torso frequently.
Climb ladder occasionally.
Handling tools continuously (Computer, Tape Gun Cart).

Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.

Responsibilities

Picking customer orders selected directly from primary product locations within the production areas.
Boxing customer orders for shipping that have been picked and loaded onto carts.
Verifying information on location labels and customer packing lists to maintain high accuracy.
Using a coversheet and cart for voice-directed picking.
Receiving coversheet and assigned cart for each series of orders, logging onto the voice system to begin the voice-directed picking process.
Moving the cart through product bin aisles and picking corresponding products, placing them into the cart, and bagging or banding small items together.
Verifying product during the picking and potentially the packing process.
Maintaining daily individual production records, which are reviewed by the supervisor.
Returning the cart to the staging area after completion and potentially beginning the packing process by verifying products and checking them off on packing lists.
Selecting appropriately sized boxes or envelopes for shipment to avoid damage to items.
Packing all orders neatly and correctly in a box to ensure quality, including appropriate packing for glass items, liquids, and ensuring items are packed standing upright.
Following proper packing procedures.
Reporting any error in product selection or quality to the appropriate team member or area and/or correcting the order as necessary before shipment.
Sending orders via conveyor system to the appropriate location for packing material and sealing, then placing packed customer orders on the conveyor system for shipment.
Processing special orders using the special order process.
Disposing of empty boxes and packaging appropriately to maintain safe and clean working conditions.
Participating in special projects and performing other duties as required.
Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis.
Performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior.
