About The Position

The Picker/Packer is responsible for sorting and moving materials and goods in a warehouse. The role involves picking, inspecting, and packing products according to order slips; labeling boxes and preparing materials for shipment; and stocking and restocking warehouse shelves. The position is full-time, regular, hourly, and non-exempt, with a schedule of six days, Sunday through Friday, starting at 9 a.m. Other responsibilities with similar skills and working conditions may be assigned.

Requirements

• Computer literacy.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; some heavy lifting is required.
• Ability to remain on one's feet for long periods.
• Ability to work in a cold, wet area.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights of 50 pounds and up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort and move materials and goods.
• Pick, inspect, and pack products according to order slips.
• Label boxes and pack materials before shipping.
• Stock and restock materials.
• Use computer systems and scanners to manage orders.
• Possibly operate pallet jacks or forklifts to transport goods.
• Follow safety practices throughout operations.
• Ensure warehouse and production goals are met.
