About The Position

Avalon Services Group is hiring picking and packing associates for a distribution center operated by a full-service logistics provider serving South Carolina and beyond. The customer offers transportation, warehousing, and distribution services. The position pays $16.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Picker/Packer supports incoming order processing and fulfillment, using scanners, computers, and packaging equipment. Work includes preparing items for processing, packing and repacking, applying labels, and palletizing shipments for dispatch. The role involves frequently standing and walking, repetitive hand and wrist motions, communicating, reading workplace information, and checking work for accuracy and thoroughness. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 20 pounds is required.

Avalon Services Group provides staffing for warehouses, logistics centers, and distribution centers, with a designated Site Coordinator at customer locations to support workers from orientation onward. Responsibilities

• Assist with unboxing and preparing items for processing.
• Process incoming orders accurately and quickly.
• Handle items properly.
• Use scanners and computers to complete order fulfillment.
• Pack and repack items using packaging equipment.
• Place labels correctly on boxes.
• Palletize shipments by stacking, wrapping, and banding items, then staging them to ship.
• Frequently assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.
• Frequently communicate with others to exchange information.
• Frequently read safety signs, product labels, and other workplace information.
