About The Position

Gear Wash, a family-owned Independent Service Provider (ISP) and a subsidiary of Fire-Dex, specializes in the care and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders. They offer advanced cleaning, inspection, repair, alteration, and equipment customization services and rentals that meet industry and manufacturer standards. They are seeking a Pick-Up and Delivery Driver with a great driving record for their Dayton location. The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of firefighter PPE and related materials between customer locations and Gear Wash facilities. This role also provides hands-on support with basic warehouse activities when not actively driving, ensuring efficient intake, staging, and shipment flow. The Driver represents Gear Wash to customers, supports daily operational needs, and contributes to a culture of safety, quality, and service while complying with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company-provided vehicles to perform scheduled pick-ups and deliveries of firefighter PPE, equipment, and related materials.
  • Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and customer instructions while maintaining professionalism and strong customer service standards.
  • Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report safety, maintenance, or compliance concerns.
  • Accurately document deliveries, pick-ups, and related activities using required paperwork or electronic systems.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including defensive driving practices, proper material-handling techniques, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Comply with all company policies, customer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, site staff, and customers regarding schedules, delays, or operational issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and designated work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with warehouse duties when not driving: Receiving, Staging, Inventory movement, Packing and shipping.
