About The Position

The Pick & Pack Associate is responsible for accurately picking parts and materials from designated shelf locations and packaging them according to work order, kit, and/or customer requirements. This is a straightforward, hands-on position focused on accuracy, organization, productivity, and ensuring the correct parts and quantities are packaged and ready for shipment or production use.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand basic written instructions.
  • Ability to read part numbers, quantities, labels, and inventory locations.
  • Basic counting and math skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately match part numbers on documentation to physical material.
  • Ability to remain organized while working with multiple part numbers.
  • Ability to follow established processes and instructions.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving appropriate training.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or questions to the appropriate personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, inventory, warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working from pick lists, work orders, or bills of material.
  • Basic experience with barcode scanners or inventory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review pick lists, work orders, bills of material (BOMs), or other provided documentation to determine required parts and quantities.
  • Locate parts in designated shelf, bin, rack, or inventory locations.
  • Complete work at a reasonable and consistent pace.
  • Pick the correct part numbers and quantities for each order or kit.
  • Verify picked materials against the provided documentation before packaging.
  • Count parts and identify obvious quantity or part discrepancies.
  • Place picked parts into bags, boxes, totes, or other specified packaging.
  • Package parts in a manner that prevents damage during handling and shipment.
  • Apply labels, part identification, quantities, or other required markings to packages.
  • Place completed packages or kits in the designated finished-goods or staging area.
  • Maintain separation between different orders, kits, and part numbers to prevent material mix-ups.
  • Return unused or incorrectly picked material to the proper inventory location.
  • Notify the supervisor or appropriate personnel when inventory quantities do not match the pick list or when material cannot be located.
  • Identify and report damaged, incorrect, or questionable material.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Keep shelves, bins, carts, and packaging areas orderly.
  • Dispose of cardboard, plastic, packaging waste, and other materials in designated locations.
  • Follow established inventory control, quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Assist with basic inventory counts or cycle counts as directed.
  • Perform other basic warehouse, material-handling, or packaging duties as assigned.
