About The Position

The PI Coordinator will assist the PI/QR/RM Director with compliance auditing and monitoring activities within the hospital to ensure the documentation requirements, processes and policies as set by hospital administration are followed. Performs audits (including detailed audits of patient medical records). Communicates audit findings and recommendations to PI/QR/RM Director. Creates reports based on audit results. Maintains a working knowledge of Federal and State laws, regulations and policies applicable. Participates in meetings/training as assigned or requested. Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • RN or LVN license.
  • Current CPR upon hire.
  • Must provide proof of approved (AHA/ARC) current CPR.
  • Must maintain approved CPR certification prior to hire.
  • Must successfully complete Management of Assaultive Behavior training including restraint and seclusion policies prior to assuming patient care responsibility.
  • Must maintain current CPR and Handle with Care.
  • Basic PC skills including working in a Windows Operating System and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to accurately enter data, prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
  • Outstanding skills in giving attention to details with display of dexterity in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations requiring a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment in answering questions and releasing information; analyze and project consequences of decisions and/or recommendations.
  • Skill to independently interpret reference materials to comply with law, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to apply time management practices to prioritize, schedule and complete work effectively to comply with mandated policies and deadlines.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks or parts of tasks simultaneously to ensure timely completion of work activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Significant exposure to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and regulations, internal auditing, healthcare, operations, patient care plans and medical records laws and fraud and abuse laws highly desired.
  • BLS and Handle with Care certifications a plus.
