Requirements

Post-secondary diploma as a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation Assistant or Kinesiology degree is preferred.
General knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment.
Focus on embracing and supporting person and family-centered care.
Passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making decisions.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently.
Value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance.
A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months.
Proof of a negative TB test.
Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset.
Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg).

Responsibilities

Support clients to be as safe and independent in-home care settings, as possible, helping them to live their best lives.
Act as a liaison between the client and the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
Assist with the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist's caseloads.
Support clients with their rehabilitative programs.
Process and perform clerical audits for discharged patient charts.
