About The Position

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team in Mississauga, ON. This temporary position is available until November 16, 2026, with a schedule of 30 hours per week. In this role, you will assist the supervising physiotherapist in executing treatment plans for residents in long-term care communities. Your responsibilities will include performing prescribed treatments such as gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and applying modalities like heat, ice, ultrasound, and TENS. You will also lead dynamic group exercise classes, prepare and clean treatment areas, maintain equipment, and communicate regularly with the physiotherapist about resident status and treatment. Daily treatments will be recorded using Seniors Wellness's proprietary web-based system.

Requirements

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system
