Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Eligibility for C.P.A membership.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • A positive attendance record.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous physiotherapy experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with the acute care setting preferred.
  • Availability to work during both the week and weekend is an asset for the Casual position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment for referred patients in medical, surgical, and specialty units within the acute care setting and post-acute care settings.
  • Deliver cross-coverage services, ensuring appropriate assessment and intervention for patients in medical, surgical, and specialty units and post-acute.
  • Prioritize and manage patient caseload effectively to meet clinical needs and organizational goals.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, progress, and discharge plans in accordance with professional standards.
  • Record workload measurement data in a timely and precise manner.
  • Collaborate as an integral member of the interdisciplinary health care team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in caseload management and program assignments to support departmental needs.
  • Manage patient care efficiently within fast-paced acute care and post-acute environments.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Rehabilitation Assistants in alignment with Ontario College of Physiotherapists’ support personnel standards.
  • Participate in clinical teaching and supervision of Physiotherapy students.
