About The Position

The Physiotherapist, under the direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation, is responsible for completing professional activities including assessment, treatment, education, report writing, and management of clients requiring Physiotherapy intervention, in accordance with professional standards. The areas of practice include MVA, WSIB, and Private. Physiotherapy services are carried out in clients' homes, communities, and work sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent manner.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.
  • Commitment to continual learning.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years providing Physiotherapy services.
  • Experience within home assessments and treatments.
  • Knowledge of auto insurance and the legal system particularly medical/legal report writing.
  • Experience with WSIB and Private clients is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans in a formal report.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients / care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Supervises Rehab Assistants (RA) and provides guidance as necessary.
  • Be in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.
