About The Position

Great Hearts Academies is seeking a part-time Physics Teacher for a 0.25-time position at Trivium Preparatory Academy in Goodyear, Arizona. The school is part of a network of 49 public, open-enrollment, tuition-free classical schools serving more than 30,000 K–12 students. Great Hearts emphasizes a classical liberal arts education aimed at intellectual and moral growth. Its science courses are rigorous and content-rich, with laboratory and field experience, and are taught for the intellectual value and beauty of the subjects. The teacher will use Great Hearts curriculum and materials while cultivating a thoughtful, orderly, and joyful classroom. The position reports to the Headmaster. Local travel may be required for training and professional development. Employment is contingent on completing a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher is required for a lead teaching role.
• U.S. work authorization is required; OPT/CPT candidates are accepted.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using Great Hearts curriculum and materials; prepare thoughtful lessons and cultivate an orderly, joyful classroom.
• Provide academic support to students, monitor their progress, and work with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs promptly.
• Model and uphold Great Hearts culture, policies, and expectations, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with families, initiate conferences as needed, and foster home-school partnerships.
• Participate in faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and ongoing professional growth.
