About The Position

The Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Health has an opening for a Full-time Permanent Physics Associate. Located in Newmarket, Ontario, SRCC is the regional cancer centre in the York Region and south Simcoe County, a rapidly growing community north of Toronto. The successful individual will be part of a team of 5 physicists, 2 physics associates, 3 accelerator service technologists and a physics system analyst. Under the direction and guidance of staff physicists, the individual is expected to perform various activities in quality assurance of radiotherapy machines and patient treatment planning, commissioning of equipment, calibration of equipment and devices, documentation, and participation in development of new treatment techniques.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science, Engineering or an equivalent
• Two years of relevant work experience in Medical Physics, applied science or another related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to do shift work
• Regular and reliable attendance is an expected requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance of radiotherapy machines and patient treatment planning
