As a Physicist here at the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, your responsibilities will include performing various tasks related to dosimetry, calibration, treatment planning, protection, and safety within the field of radiation therapy. This role involves directing CT simulation, overseeing the transfer of studies to the treatment planning system, contouring structures, calculating doses, determining and verifying machine settings, and ensuring accurate data transfer to the record and verify system. Additionally, the Physicist collaborates with the Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Departments, conducting radiation protection surveys. This position requires a strong understanding of the technical aspects of radiation therapy and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy in treatment procedures. Requirements

  • PhD
  • 24 months clinical work in Radiation Physics or graduation from a CAMPEP program
  • ABR or ABMP or eligibility plus certification within 2 years of hire

Responsibilities

  • Performing various tasks related to dosimetry, calibration, treatment planning, protection, and safety within the field of radiation therapy.

  • Initiating and developing procedures for calibration and data collection of newly established programs.
  • Participating in Brachytherapy treatment planning and loading of radioactive sources.
  • Ensuring that all assignments (including recurring assignments) are completed as scheduled.
