About The Position

We are seeking a Physicist I to join our team in Broomfield, CO. This role involves working closely with research scientists to operate, maintain, and upgrade a commercial quantum computer. You will analyze system performance and reliability, plan upgrades, and support cross-disciplinary teams with complex technical challenges. The position requires independent operation and problem-solving capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics or relevant engineering field such as optical, electrical, mechanical, or software preferred.
  • 1 year hands-on laboratory experience (degree inclusive), maintaining, troubleshooting and operating electronic systems, complex optical systems or vacuum/cryogenic systems
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in physics or relevant engineering field such as optical, electrical, mechanical, or software
  • Experience with optics and lasers
  • Experience with vacuum systems, electronics, or cryogenics
  • Strong computer skills including ability to program in Python
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to expand knowledge, learn new skills, and push the boundary of what’s possible
