About The Position

The Physician Assistant shall perform tasks and procedures delegated by the referring Physician within their scope of practice; performs complete, detailed, and accurate histories; reviews patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports. This individual shall perform physical examinations, interacts, and counsels patients for symptom management, advanced care planning purposes, and the determination of patient goals. The PA will Institute therapy, including drug therapies. The PA will accept and perform hospital consults and rounds, and provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care and management of stable and chronic illnesses under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed attending physician. This position may have additional duties that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Program required.
  • PA License required.
  • BLS required.
  • Knowledge of basic Windows based PC operations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.
  • Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Willing to participate in palliative care education programs and practice state-of-the-art care for all patients.
