About The Position

knownwell is a weight-inclusive healthcare company that offers weight management, primary care, nutrition counseling, and health coaching. Their care model combines in-clinic and virtual care. They have received significant funding and are expanding nationwide. They are looking to hire an experienced Physician for their National Virtual Care team who is passionate about obesity medicine and metabolic health. The Physician will deliver comprehensive, weight-inclusive care to patients managing obesity and related metabolic conditions, and will also serve as a physician collaborator for advanced practice clinicians. The position is remote and offers flexible scheduling.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with successful completion of residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
  • Unrestricted medical licenses in Pacific states
  • DEA registration
  • Strong experience, interest, and commitment to obesity medicine and metabolic health
  • Dedication to weight-inclusive, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
  • Active medical license (or eligibility via IMLC) in at least 15 of Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification or active candidacy in Obesity Medicine (ABOM)
  • Experience with anti-obesity medications (AOMs) including GLP-1 receptor agonists and combination pharmacotherapy
  • Comfort working telehealth models
  • Experience with and interest in APC collaboration and supervision
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based obesity-focused medical care to patients
  • Maintain active medical licensure in at least 15 of the Eastern region states (CT, DE, FL, GA, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA, WV, and Washington DC); broader licensure considered a plus
  • Provide clinical mentorship, collaboration, and physician oversight to APCs practicing in the National Virtual Care market
  • See patients within knownwell’s National Virtual Care market, with a particular focus on supporting care delivery in physician-only states
  • Develop and implement individualized, patient-centered treatment plans integrating pharmacotherapy, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and behavioral health approaches
  • Collaborate with registered dietitians and behavioral health providers to support a team-based model of care
  • Partner with the National Medical Director and clinical leadership to uphold and advance clinical quality standards and care protocols
  • Contribute to a weight-inclusive, non-stigmatizing care culture consistent with knownwell’s mission and values
  • Participate in ongoing clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings
