About The Position
Engelhard Medical Center, part of Ocracoke Health Center, Inc., is seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time Physician (MD or DO) to join their dedicated care team in rural Hyde County. They provide excellent, compassionate care in a community shaped by fishing, farming, and small-town life. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), they provide comprehensive primary care services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, and focus on serving underserved and rural communities. This role involves providing primary and preventive care to patients of all ages, with a part-time schedule typically 2-3 days per week with flexibility. The clinic is open Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. The physician will manage a patient panel of approximately 300-400 to support meaningful continuity of care, collaborate with experienced physicians and clinical staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment, and participate in community health initiatives.
Requirements
- Licensed MD or DO in North Carolina (or eligible)
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine (or similar)
- Values teamwork and collaborative patient care
- Enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and the community
