Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or Hospital Medicine
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of employment
Active DEA License
Proficiency with EMR systems
Compassionate, motivated, and a strong collaborator
This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities.

Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based care by completing history and physicals on new patients and conducting routine rounding (minimum once per week).
Partner with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to manage regulatory and complex patient visits, ensuring compliance and clinical excellence.
Oversee APP performance, serving as a mentor and resource to elevate care delivery across your team.
Close quality gaps when prompted, driving measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
Serve as a trusted advocate for patients—championing what matters most to them.
Represent Curana Health’s mission and values as a clinical leader and ambassador in the communities you serve.
Oversee the clinical care delivered to facility residents and take accountability for quality outcomes (for Medical Director role).
Lead clinical quality metric review, including attending monthly QAPI meetings, analyzing CASPER and RTA data, and addressing areas like polypharmacy, infection control, and antibiotic stewardship (for Medical Director role).
Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to Project Improvement Plans (PIPs) (for Medical Director role).
Mentor Curana-employed APPs, helping build a stronger, more consistent clinical team on the ground (for Medical Director role).
Support facility leadership with regulatory compliance, including engaging with surveyors when needed to ensure state and federal guidelines are met (for Medical Director role).
Help ensure that external attending physicians meet the quality and compliance standards of the facility (for Medical Director role).
