About The Position
Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician to join their team in the Springfield/Joplin, MO area. They offer flexible scheduling options in a collaborative and modern clinical environment. This role involves providing a wide range of clinical services, including examining and treating patients with acute conditions, taking medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, making diagnoses, prescribing medications, performing minor procedures, and administering vaccinations. The Physician will also document patient progress, coordinate follow-up care, and supervise/collaborate with Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners, including remote supervision and credentialing support. The position is in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting within one of the fastest-growing urgent care networks in the country.
Requirements
- Board-certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds
- Active state medical license
- 2 years of post-residency clinical experience, ideally in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting
- Experience treating patients across all age groups
- Proficiency in minor procedures such as suturing and splinting, and in reading EKGs and X-rays
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Comfort collaborating with advanced practice providers
Responsibilities
- Independently provide a wide range of clinical services
- Examining and treating patients with acute conditions
- Taking medical histories and ordering diagnostic tests
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Performing minor procedures and administering vaccinations
- Documenting patient progress and coordinating follow-up care
- Supervising and collaborating with PA/NPs, including remote supervision and credentialing support
- Working 8- or 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting
