Requirements

  • Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
  • Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
  • Licensed in the state of employment
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
  • Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine

Nice To Haves

  • Psychiatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
  • Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
  • Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review
  • Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families
  • Oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs
  • After-hours on-call responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures
  • Tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development
  • Travel may be required depending on facility needs
  • Work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings
