About The Position

UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physicians to work in urgent care centers in the Greater Pittsburgh area and elsewhere in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The role offers a varied and clinically complex patient mix, shared decision-making, and scheduled patient flow intended to support wellness, efficiency, and safe care. Centers use an integrated EPIC electronic medical record, point-of-care testing, and on-site X-ray equipment.

Physicians serve as clinical team leaders in collaboration with on-site radiologic technologists and medical assistants. The role includes opportunities to teach, develop focus expertise, and serve as a supervising physician. Continuing learning is supported through monthly collegial meetings and case reviews, CME support through UPMC Health System, and GoHealth’s national GoEducate series. Scheduling may be flexible, with rotation among locations or anchoring at one center.

Requirements

• At least one year of full-time experience in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting, or two years of family medicine experience.
• Comfort with minor procedures such as sutures, casts, and splints.
• Ability to provide preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
• Experience treating patients ages six months and older in an acute care setting.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med-Peds.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care services for patients ages six months and older in an acute care setting.
• Perform minor procedures, including sutures, casts, and splints.
• Provide preliminary interpretations of EKGs and X-rays.
• Collaborate with on-site radiologic technologists and medical assistants as a clinical team leader.
• Participate in shared decision-making and clinical problem-solving.
• Contribute to ongoing learning through collegial meetings and case reviews.
• Share experience and training with clinicians and staff; opportunities include teaching, serving as a focus expert, and supervising physicians.
• Work at a selected anchor center or rotate between locations, as arranged.
