About The Position

UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physicians to join its urgent care team in the Pittsburgh area and across Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In partnership with UPMC Health System, the organization operates a network of urgent care centers in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Physicians provide care for a wide variety of concerns in a clinical environment designed to support efficient, safe care and shared decision-making. Centers use an integrated EPIC electronic medical record, point-of-care testing, and on-site X-ray equipment. Physicians collaborate with on-site radiologic technologists and medical assistants and may have opportunities to teach, serve as a focus expert, and supervise other clinicians. Ongoing learning opportunities include monthly collegial meetings and case reviews, CME support through UPMC Health System, and the national GoEducate series. Scheduling options include flexibility to rotate between locations or anchor at one center.

Requirements

• At least one year of full-time experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting, or two years of Family Medicine experience.
• Comfort with minor procedures such as sutures, casts, and splints.
• Ability to provide preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays.
• Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med-Peds.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care services for a wide variety of patient concerns.
• Treat patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting.
• Perform minor procedures, including sutures, casts, and splints.
• Provide preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays.
• Collaborate with on-site radiologic technologists and medical assistants as a clinical team leader.
• Participate in shared decision-making, problem-solving, collegial meetings, and case reviews.
• Share experience and training with other clinicians and staff; opportunities may include teaching, serving as a focus expert, and supervising physicians.
