About The Position

Join one of Western Canada's most established interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams at Lifemark Harvey in Kelowna. Working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, kinesiologists, counsellors, physicians, and concussion specialists, you will provide assessment and medical oversight for individuals experiencing persistent symptoms following concussion and other complex injuries. Our programs support clients with service-related injuries, motor vehicle injuries, workplace injuries, chronic pain, psychological trauma, and other conditions that create barriers to recovery, function, and return to meaningful life roles. Using a biopsychosocial approach, you will collaborate within a highly experienced team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care for complex cases requiring coordinated medical, physical, cognitive, and psychological rehabilitation. Lifemark Harvey has served the Kelowna community since 2002 and is recognized for its expertise in concussion management, occupational rehabilitation, PTSD-informed care, vestibular rehabilitation, and complex injury recovery. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician with concussion experience who is passionate about interdisciplinary care, clinical collaboration, and helping individuals achieve meaningful recovery outcomes.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine and valid license to practice in respective field in province/territory as applicable, and member in good standing with provincial regulatory body.
  • Experience in the management of complex medical conditions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments of eligible health conditions and barriers to rehabilitation and recovery
  • Complete medication reviews and identify potential drug therapy concerns impacting function, recovery, or overall health
  • Assess and clarify diagnoses, prognosis, and relevant comorbidities that may influence rehabilitation outcomes
  • Identify medical conditions, whether related or unrelated to the eligible health condition, that may impede progress if left unaddressed
  • Determine appropriate medical restrictions, accommodations, and return-to-activity considerations
  • Recommend and provide clinical rationale for additional specialized assessments or consultations required to support rehabilitation goals
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop evidence-informed treatment recommendations that emphasize education, self-management, resilience, and functional recovery
  • Liaise with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Deliver services through a combination of in-person and virtual appointments, as appropriate
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, clinical consultations, and team debriefs to support optimal client outcomes
