About The Position

Christ Community Health Services is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Physician (MD/DO) to join our team in a faith-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, whole-person primary care while serving patients who may face significant barriers to healthcare. Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered, team-based care.

Nice To Haves

  • Primary care experience preferred.
  • Experience working in community health, an FQHC, or with underserved populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based primary care to patients across the lifespan.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Promote preventive care, wellness, and population health.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, behavioral health, pharmacy, and other services.
  • Partner with patients through shared decision-making and individualized care plans.
  • Address patients' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs as appropriate within a faith-based care environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation and coding.
  • Participate in care-gap closure, quality improvement, peer review, and other FQHC initiatives.
  • Support patient access through same-day visits, telehealth, extended hours, and other access initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in provider meetings, team huddles, case conferences, and interdisciplinary discussions.
  • Support the training and development of students, residents, and new providers when applicable.
  • Participate in community outreach and engagement activities.
  • Maintain compliance with HRSA, UDS, PCMH, regulatory, safety, and organizational standards.
