About The Position

This position involves performing medical histories, assessments, and examinations. The physician will diagnose and treat pulmonary and respiratory conditions, collaborate with other physicians, and provide critical care treatment to stabilize patients. Responsibilities include ordering and prescribing treatments, performing various pulmonary and critical care procedures, advising patients on long-term management of chronic illnesses, and completing all documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree with directly related experience in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
  • DEA Certificate.
  • Ohio Licensure or the ability to obtain.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills, attention to detail and the ability to work within time constraints.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with the computer.
  • Ability to self-direct.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and handle changing priorities.
  • Positive, people-centric leadership style, be able to grasp complex problems quickly and provide reasonable direction and counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform an appropriate medical history, initial assessment, and examination of the patient.
  • Assess patient’s pulmonary and respiratory condition and develop a treatment plan.
  • Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases such as respiratory failure, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, asthma, etc.
  • Collaborate with other physicians to ensure the respiratory health of a patient.
  • Provide general pulmonology critical care treatment to stabilize a patient’s suffering from pulmonary conditions that affect their ability to breathe.
  • Order and prescribe treatment by physical medicine and therapy.
  • Perform typical pulmonary and critical care procedures such as chest and sinus x-rays, bronchoscopy, EKG, spirometry, peak flows (MIP, MEP, PEF), walking and nocturnal oximetry, sleep studies, etc.
  • Advise patients about long-term treatment and management for chronic illnesses.
  • Complete all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.
