About The Position

Provide professional nursing assistance to the physicians and staff at Jacksonville Medical Care by working as a team to provide quality healthcare to patients. The ideal candidate will maintain the proper skills, knowledge, licensure, and supplies to provide these services. This role is responsible for all clinical functions, preparing exam rooms, managing supplies, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring an adequate supply of linens. The nurse will assist physicians with patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, managing prescription requests, and entering patient information into the EMR. Proficiency in clinical skills such as injections, basic pharmacology, sterile techniques, venipuncture, and knowledge of OSHA and HIPPA regulations are essential. The role also involves collecting and processing specimens, documenting patient care, and managing patient messages. The nurse must conform to clinic policies, attend meetings, support management decisions, and meet attendance standards.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid nursing or medical assistant license.
  • Must be familiar with basic medical office procedures.
  • Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and HIPPA regulations.
  • Must be able to stand 0-8 hours daily.
  • Must be able to assist a patient standing, walking, and getting on/off exam tables or equipment.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in stressful situations.
  • Proficient with all clinical skills such as injections, basic pharmacology, vital signs, sterile techniques, Venipuncture.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPPA regulations, and the ability to set up for specific office procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional assistance to physicians and staff working as a team to provide quality healthcare to patients.
  • Maintain the responsibility of all clinical functions.
  • Prepare the exam rooms with the proper equipment and supplies necessary for daily operation.
  • Log all supplies removed from the supply room so that inventory can be replenished in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintain laundry so that there is an adequate amount of gowns, sheets and towels for daily operation.
  • Provide nursing assistance to the physician, including rooming patients, taking chief complaints, obtaining vital signs, returning phone calls, assisting with procedures, administering medications, and managing prescription requests and refills at the direction of a physician.
  • Enter pertinent information into the patients EMR such as PMH, FMH, SH, Allergies, current medications, current medical conditions, chief complaint, vital signs and any other information necessary for quality patient care.
  • Review patient information with the patient on each subsequent visit.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge for collecting and processing specimens for laboratory and pathology services.
  • Maintain necessary documentation to represent the patient name, date and time of service, ordering physician, type and source of specimen, and the test being requested.
  • Enter and manage all messages regarding patient care by phone or in person into EMR.
  • Forward issues that cannot be resolved by the nurse to the appropriate physician and enter all correspondence into the EMR.
  • Conform to the clinic handbook and follow the office guidelines set forth in the Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Convey the clinic purpose to patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Conform to clinic dress code.
  • Attend and participate in all in-service, department, and clinic meetings.
  • Support management decisions and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Meet attendance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
