About The Position

This full-time Civilian Physician Rheumatology position is with the Defense Health Agency, located in the Department of Medicine at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Board certification (ABIM) preferred; board eligibility considered.
  • Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Physician (Rheumatology) in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), providing acute and long-term comprehensive care for adolescents, adults, and elderly patients with complex rheumatic illnesses.
  • Formulates and executes comprehensive treatment plans for active-duty personnel, dependents, and beneficiaries.
  • Conducts patient education, lifestyle counseling, and follow-up to optimize outcomes.
  • Provides inpatient/outpatient consults, on-call support, and peer advisory services.
  • Performs emergency interventions and assesses service members' fitness for duty/deployment.
  • Leads Quality Assurance, peer reviews, and systemic clinical improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program; designs curriculum and supervises/mentors learners.
  • Attends conferences and maintains advanced clinical credentials to represent the MTF.
