The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients. This role involves developing and cultivating positive working relationships, demonstrating a commitment to distinctive, personalized care, and assisting in meeting operational, financial, and patient satisfaction goals. The physician will assess and monitor the medical needs of patients, provide quality medical services, and communicate regularly with patients' families, referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and other hospital departments regarding the plan of care and treatment. Documentation of medical services must be consistent with hospital, payor, and regulatory standards. The role also includes participation in on-call and weekend coverage, value-based reimbursement programs, quality initiatives, Quality Improvement (QI) / Quality Assurance (QA) activities, and peer review. Additionally, the physician will assist in the development of policies and procedures, participate in ongoing process improvement activities, support patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, and provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship to fellows, residents, APPs, and students.
