About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a BE/BC Radiation Oncologist to join an established department at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role offers an excellent referral base and strong support from the onsite Medical Oncology team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Gamma Knife and be comfortable with Brachytherapy treatments. Responsibilities include participating in weekly tumor conferences with other Radiation Oncologists within the Marshfield Clinic system. Marshfield Center is the largest tertiary care center for Marshfield Clinic Health System and serves as the main campus for research and education. This position will also involve outreach to the Eau Claire Cancer Center.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Completion of a hospital-affiliated Radiation Oncology residency program or a clinical fellowship accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application, must have completed residency training within the last five years and achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training unless waived.
  • Demonstrate active involvement of at least 100 Radiology Oncology cases in the last 24 months.
  • If just completed residency/fellowship, provide residency/fellowship log.
  • If not applying directly out of residency/fellowship, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where privileges are held showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
  • If a quality profile is not available, provide documentation of clinical activity for the past 24 months.

  • Interest in working with Gamma Knife.
  • Comfortable with Brachytherapy treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination for patients of all ages.
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment plans for patients of all ages.
  • Work with Gamma Knife.
  • Perform Brachytherapy treatments.
  • Participate in weekly tumor conferences.
