About The Position

The West Virginia University Health System, the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. WVUHS Medical Group seeks a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician to practice in Weirton, WV. As a full member of our WVU Health System, Wheeling Hospital is part of a broad, integrated network of doctors, hospitals, clinics, and specialized institutes. University Health Associates (UHA) is a private, not-for-profit corporation composed of clinical faculty members of the WVU School of Medicine and School of Dentistry, and also advanced practice providers and other allied health providers. The organization is West Virginia’s largest multi-specialty physician practice. UHA operates and staffs clinics and hospitals throughout West Virginia and surrounding states.

Requirements

• Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain state medical license.
• Successful Candidate must have completed a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, or Emergency Medicine residency program, along with a Sports Medicine fellowship.
• Successful Candidate must be board certified/eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, or Emergency Medicine.
• All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment.
