About The Position

We are seeking a Locum Physiatrist to provide coverage for our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. This role involves direct patient care, including face-to-face evaluations, rounding, consultations, and participation in interdisciplinary team conferences. The focus is solely on hospital inpatient rehabilitation, with no outpatient clinic coverage required. The unit has a capacity of 20 beds, and the patient load is typically between 10-20 patients per day. The facility offers 24-hour laboratory services and anesthesia support, and utilizes the Cerner EMR system. The hospital holds a Level III Trauma Designation.

Requirements

Board Certified (Board Eligible candidates will not be considered).
Valid Michigan Medical License.
Current BLS certification.
Provider must be locally based.
Clean background for expedient credentialing (no exceptions).
Availability for the specified coverage dates (November 23 - November 27 and November 30 - December 4).

Responsibilities

Conduct face-to-face evaluations within 24 hours of patient admission.
Perform daily rounding on patients.
Provide consultations as needed.
Engage in direct patient care.
Participate in scheduled interdisciplinary team conferences (Monday at 8:30 AM, Wednesday at 8:30 AM, Friday at 11:00 AM).
Review and document pre-admission screening in adherence to CMS Guidelines.
Manage narcotic prescriptions.
Complete discharge summaries and medication reconciliation.
Provide weekly care plan documentation.
Conduct post-admission evaluations and face-to-face visits.
Perform IPOCS and PAPE/H&P procedures.
Approve admissions electronically.
