Physician - Per Diem
About The Position
Memorial Hermann - GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physicians with urgent care or emergency room experience to treat both adult and pediatric patients. This Per Diem Provider role is for our North Region Centers, which include Bridgeland, Cypress Market, Kingwood, Magnolia Place, The Woodlands, Willis, Springwoods Village, Steeplechase, Rock Creek, Market Street-Woodlands, Louetta, Tomball, and Harpers Preserve. Physicians in this role will independently perform a wide variety of clinical services, including the treatment of acute episodic conditions and the selection and utilization of appropriate diagnostics and therapeutic procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited medical school required
- 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
- Minimum 18 months’ experience in applicable practice setting required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
- Active state medical licensure
- Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
- Applicable office procedures include but are not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Responsibilities
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
- Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented to you for supervision
- Act as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process, including signoff of the PA/NPs delineation of privileges (DOP)
