Physician, Per Diem Hospitalist (Berkeley/Oakland, CA)
About The Position
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Hospitalist to join their large and complex hospitalist program. This role involves caring for the majority of hospitalized patients, co-managing complex surgical and subspecialty populations, and collaborating with various healthcare professionals to enhance quality, patient flow, and patient experience. The position offers the chance to practice high-acuity inpatient medicine within a supportive and collaborative group, with opportunities for teaching, quality improvement, and program development. Hospitalists are integral to advancing system-wide initiatives in quality, safety, efficiency, and care redesign, with potential for leadership development and participation in innovative programs within the Sutter Health system.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible
- Possess an active and unrestricted California Medical License prior to employment
- DEA license, prior to employment
- IM/FM physicians considered
Responsibilities
- Care for the majority of hospitalized patients.
- Co-manage complex surgical and subspecialty populations.
- Partner closely with nursing, case management, specialists, and hospital leadership to drive quality, flow, and patient experience.
- Advance system-wide initiatives in quality, safety, efficiency, and care redesign.
- Participate in innovative inpatient programs.
