About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Cardiologist to join an expanding group of Pediatric Specialists. This role involves performing history and physical examinations, admitting, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and providing consultative services to children and adolescents up to the age of 21 presenting with cardiovascular disease, and adults with a history of congenital heart disease and disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The physician may also provide care in an intensive care setting in accordance with rules, regulations, and hospital policies.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree
Successful completion of a Pediatric residency program of at least three years’ duration
Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology of at least 3 years’ duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
Certification by the appropriate specialty /subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
If not board certified at the time of application, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement
Demonstrate active involvement of 25 Pediatric Cardiology procedures during the past two years with satisfactory quality data
If not applying directly out of fellowship, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications
If a quality profile is not available, documentation of the applicant’s clinical-based activity for the past 24 months is required

Training at residency or fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may be considered by the Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors
More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes
