Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board Certification required within one year of eligibility
  • Active and unrestricted Florida medical license
  • Active DEA registration
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to maintaining required continuing medical education and professional development
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and families from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care, including well-child visits, preventive services, acute care, and chronic disease management
  • Perform patient histories, physical examinations, clinical assessments, and medical diagnoses
  • Monitor growth, development, immunizations, and age-appropriate health screenings
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
  • Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate follow-up care
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment, wellness, and disease prevention
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialty care, diagnostic services, treatment, and follow-up
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation
  • Complete billing charges and clinical tasks in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Participate in daily care team huddles, peer review, and quality-improvement initiatives
  • Support efforts to close care gaps and improve pediatric health outcomes
  • Provide clinical guidance and oversight to advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other care team members
  • Teach and supervise residents, medical students, and allied health professionals when applicable
  • Support accreditation readiness, clinical quality measures, and organizational performance goals
  • Participate in after-hours coverage when assigned
  • Protect patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety
  • Comply with HIPAA, federal, state, accreditation, HRSA, and TFHC requirements
