The Division of Pediatric Neurosciences seeks a full-time BC/BE Child Neurologist with Fellowship training in Epilepsy. Currently the division includes 11 child neurologists, 4 pediatric neurosurgeons, 6 pediatric neuropsychologists, 9 Advanced Practice Providers, social work, dietician, and other support staff including Child Life and genetics counselors. This position will join and help oversee 5 board certified epileptologists within the very busy department. Key roles for this position include: Assess and monitors the medical needs of patients Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times. Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care. Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients. Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources. Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards. Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development / application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities. Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals. Participation witihn the 8 bed, wireless EMU, PET, MRI areas Ongoing participation within a very actice research program with an opportunity to teach child neurology residents and epilepsy fellows.
