About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking an Orthopedic Sports Medicine and General Physician for its location in Rapid City, SD. This role involves a mix of sports and general orthopedics, with a schedule of Monday-Friday and a shared call rotation. The physician will diagnose and treat acute and chronic MS injuries, perform arthroscopic procedures, and provide general orthopedic care. Collaboration with advanced practice providers, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and primary care physicians is expected. The position offers a strong referral network in a growing market.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Completion of a hospital-affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years’ duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
For applicants not board certified at the time of application, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless waived.
Demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months (either via residency/fellowship log or quality profile from hospital privileges).
