About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Orthopaedics seek a total joint reconstruction surgeon qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022. Today, the WVU Health System has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes 24 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical licensure.
  • Completed orthopaedic surgery residency program.
  • Completed joint reconstruction surgery fellowship program.
  • Board certified/eligible in orthopaedic surgery.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
