About The Position

Sutter North Medical Group (SNMG) seeks to hire a BE/BC General Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team in Yuba City, CA. The Yuba Sutter region is a Northern California getaway for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the outdoors, locally grown food, rich history, diverse cultures, art, and so much more! Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Active (or eligible for) CA state medical license
• Strong clinical and surgical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

• Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., retina, cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastic) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and detect eye diseases or abnormalities
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy
• Perform surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, laser treatments, and other ophthalmologic interventions (if applicable to subspecialty)
• Prescribe medications and corrective lenses as needed
• Interpret diagnostic testing results (e.g., OCT, visual fields, fundus photography)
• Educate patients on eye care, treatment plans, and preventive measures
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Collaborate with optometrists, primary care providers, and other specialists for coordinated patient care
• Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology through continuing education
