About The Position

We are seeking a Physician specializing in Oncology for a Locum Tenens position in Richmond, Indiana. This inpatient role involves clinical duties and on-call responsibilities, covering a period from September 1, 2026, ongoing. The schedule includes clinical shifts from Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Mondays off. On-call duties will include night and weekend telephone calls, with the provider only needing to come to the hospital if requested by an Advanced Practice Provider (APP). The provider will also travel to multiple practice locations, including Winchester every Wednesday and Hagerstown every other Thursday (1st and 3rd Thursdays). Telemedicine is not available for this position. The facility is a Level III Trauma Center with over 220 beds and offers full multispecialty support and a dedicated support staff including APPs and nursing staff. This coverage is needed due to a staff member leaving.

Requirements

Active Indiana Medical License or IMLC.
Board Certified or Board Eligible (Board certification required within 5 years of residency).
Active DEA (if applicable).
BLS Required.
Oncology experience.
Case logs required for credentialing.
Flu vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption).
COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption).
Must enter work hours in the Vemsta platform.
Must complete order entry as the locum provider.

Nice To Haves

ACLS Required only if requesting conscious sedation privileges.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient oncology care.
Evaluate and manage oncology patients during scheduled clinical hours.
Participate in night and weekend telephone call rotation.
Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and provide physician support as needed.
Travel to outreach clinic locations in Winchester and Hagerstown for scheduled coverage.
Order entry within the Vemsta platform.
Maintain case logs for credentialing.
