About The Position

The West Virginia University Health System Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a nephrologist. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, diagnostic, and clinical skills. This group functions as a ‘Regional Team’ and the successful candidate could be expected to practice at all locations as needed: Wheeling Hospital, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Wetzel County Hospital, Barnesville Hospital, Harrison Community Hospital and all associated North Region Ambulatory clinics. The WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) formed in 2021 and has since grown to 900 physicians and advanced practice providers. Caregivers affiliated with the group practice in all 25 WVU Medicine hospitals and clinics. The group’s physicians serve in a variety of specialties and subspecialties – from primary care to advanced specialty care – and work in tandem with the WVU faculty practice plan.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
• Eligible to obtain a state medical license
• Completed an ACGME‑accredited Internal Medicine residency
• Completion of an ACGME‑accredited Nephrology fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology

Responsibilities

• Practice at all locations as needed within the North Region, including Wheeling Hospital, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Wetzel County Hospital, Barnesville Hospital, Harrison Community Hospital, and associated North Region Ambulatory clinics.
