About The Position

Posterity Group LLC is seeking a Nephrologist to staff The Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center (HWW VAMC). The role involves providing comprehensive clinical Nephrology services, including the evaluation and management of various kidney-related conditions such as acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease, end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), fluid and electrolyte disorders, and hypertension. The position also includes managing nephrolithiasis, kidney transplant patients, and extracorporeal treatments for poisonings and intoxications. Responsibilities extend to the management of kidney replacement therapy (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, etc.), including vascular access and procedural complications. Additional procedural services may include the placement of central and femoral venous dialysis catheters and percutaneous kidney biopsies. The physician will provide consultative services at the patient's bedside or in an outpatient clinic setting, with procedures to be scheduled within 30 days of a consult.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible physicians by either the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
  • BLS and or ACLS certification.
  • Valid and current license.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical Nephrology services including evaluation and management of acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease, end stage kidney disease (ESKD), fluid and electrolyte disorders, and hypertension.
  • Provide medical evaluation and management of nephrolithiasis.
  • Provide medical management of kidney transplant patients.
  • Provide evaluation and management of extracorporeal treatment for poisonings and intoxications.
  • Manage AKI and ESKD, including prescription and medical oversight of kidney replacement therapy (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, prolonged intermittent kidney replacement therapy and/or continuous kidney replacement therapy), including management of vascular access and procedural complications.
  • Perform additional procedural services such as placement of central and femoral venous dialysis catheters and percutaneous kidney biopsy, if not otherwise provided or contracted.
  • Provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside or in the clinic setting.
  • Ensure procedures are scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult.
