About The Position
West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are seeking a Movement Disorders Neurologist for Thomas Memorial Hospital qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in South Charleston, WV. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. Candidates will join an active multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, neuropathologists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research, and education. WVU Neurology has an active multidisciplinary ALS clinic and the only MDA clinic in West Virginia. Our clinic offers a range of some of the most innovative approaches available including DBS, injections, medications, MR-guided focused ultrasound, rehabilitation, and speech therapy. Through a new vision and strategic thrust for neuroscience at WVU, and through basic, applied, and translational/clinical research, the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is a global leader in the discovery, development, and delivery of world-class research in human performance and brain health. Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible for state medical licensure
- Completed a neurology residency program
- Completed a movement disorders fellowship program
- Board certified/eligible in neurology
- Board certified/eligible in movement disorders
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment
