About The Position

Orlando Health Surgery Department is seeking an accomplished Burn Surgeon to serve as the Medical Director of the Orlando Health Burn Program. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced surgeon with advanced training and expertise in burn surgery who is passionate about clinical excellence, program development and multidisciplinary collaboration. As Medical Director, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership for an established, ABA verified burn program, guiding its continued growth and advancement as a premier regional and national destination for burn care.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including prior experience leading a burn program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery
  • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited burn fellowship.
  • Fellow of the American Burn Association (FABA)
  • Florida Medical License or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive management of patients with complex burn injuries across the full continuum of care.
  • Direct acute burn resuscitation and critical care management.
  • Provide operative management for major burn injuries.
  • Lead rehabilitation planning and long-term recovery efforts.
  • Utilize advanced skin coverage and grafting techniques, including state-of-the-art-wound management technologies.
  • Apply reconstructive burn surgery expertise, including scar reconstruction.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, clinical innovation and program development.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to expand and enhance the burn program while maintaining the highest standards of patient outcomes and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain ABA Verification.
