About The Position

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist to join their dynamic team in an ambulatory clinic in Lake Forest, IL. The MFM team provides full-spectrum care in a community setting, supported by the Northwestern Medicine Health Network. They collaborate with OBGYN physicians across six Northwestern Medicine hospitals, supporting approximately 9,000 deliveries annually. The role involves providing phone support and guidance to obstetricians at various hospitals and coordinating maternal transfers when necessary. Opportunities to participate in deliveries and procedures are available. The growing program will include 11 MFM physicians and advanced practice providers, working in a team-based model with specialists in genetics, fetal cardiology, and experienced clinical support staff. Strong working relationships exist with adult medicine and surgical subspecialists, and pediatric consultations are provided by specialists from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health.

Requirements

  • Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
  • Or, a licensed osteopathic physician with equivalent training and experience who is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-spectrum Maternal-Fetal Medicine care in a community setting.
  • Collaborate with OBGYN physicians across six Northwestern Medicine hospitals.
  • Offer phone support and guidance to obstetricians at Delnor, Huntley, Kishwaukee, Lake Forest, and Palos hospitals.
  • Coordinate maternal transfers to Central DuPage Hospital when needed.
  • Participate in deliveries and procedures, if desired.
  • Work within a team-based model including geneticists, genetic counselors, fetal cardiologists, and sonographers.
