About The Position

The Physician Liaison is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with physicians, clinics, and other departments. This role involves searching for new opportunities within an assigned territory for community engagement and brand awareness to drive new patient growth. The liaison will manage accounts including primary care physicians, specialists, and other referral sources, while also maintaining and updating the clinic’s physician and patient referral programs. A key aspect of this role is ensuring smooth receipt and scheduling of physician-referred patients by working closely with the scheduling department. The liaison will also assist in the development and execution of internal and external special events and clinic physician programs to enhance community education and foster positive relations. Budget adherence for marketing/physician relations is required, as is promoting the organization within the medical community to establish partnerships, affiliations, and consistent referral patterns. Ultimately, the Physician Liaison must meet or exceed departmental and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, payers, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of concepts of marketing, communications, and public relations.
  • Knowledge of the health care field and orthopedics, neurology, physical therapy, etc.
  • Knowledge of healthcare electronic medical records systems.
  • Skill in the development and implementation of marketing lectures/talks.
  • Skill in promoting the organization in the community.
  • Skill in executing special events.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and providers.
  • Ability to be organized.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Meets or exceeds physician relations, department, and organizational goals.
