About The Position

Sanford Health in Bemidji, MN is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join their group. The department consists of four physicians and one advanced practice provider. Practice options include outpatient only or outpatient with the option to follow your inpatients (hospitalists manage after 5pm and weekends). The only call is shared nursing home call with FM and IM. The schedule is flexible to fit your needs, offering a great work/life balance. An integrated behavioral health therapist and community health worker are available. This is a multi-specialty clinic within a 118-bed hospital that includes a 14-bed ICU. The facility is a Level III trauma center with annual ER volumes of 27,000.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
• Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Experience can be demonstrated by providing a residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations.
• Applicants not applying directly out of residency must provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where they currently have privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including the number of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
• Must demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
• If a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
• More education and experience may be required for more advanced practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations.
• Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illness, diseases and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.

Benefits

• Compensation floor of $375,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
• $100,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years (subject to a contractual agreement specifying all details).
