About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE FM NMM/OMM physician to join their Family Medicine team in Fargo, ND. This role involves practicing osteopathic manipulation with primary care. The position offers core privileges in Family Medicine, allowing the physician to perform comprehensive patient care including history and physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation for patients of all ages across various systems. This includes pre-operative and post-operative medical care, and return-to-work evaluations.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training unless waived by the governing Board
  • Experience can be demonstrated by a residency procedure log and completed rotations for recent graduates, or a quality profile from hospitals showing clinical activity for the last 12 months for those not applying directly out of residency
  • Must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing a case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages
  • Manage a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions, and functional disorders of circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, female reproductive, and genitourinary systems
  • Provide pre-operative care of surgical patients
  • Provide post-operative medical care of surgical patients
  • Address return to work issues
