About The Position
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified adult psychiatrist to join the inpatient behavioral health team at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. This position offers the opportunity to practice within a growing, physician-led behavioral health service supported by the resources of a nationally recognized health system. Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Illinois
- Eligible for medical staff appointment at Northwestern Medicine
- Current or eligible DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
- Commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and patient-centered care

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults receiving inpatient psychiatric care
- Lead daily interdisciplinary treatment-planning rounds
- Develop and oversee individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Provide psychopharmacologic management, risk assessment, crisis stabilization, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with nursing, social work, therapy, hospital medicine, pharmacy, and other consulting services
- Coordinate safe and timely transitions of care with emergency, outpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and community-based services
- Participate in initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical quality, length of stay, patient experience, and continuity of care
- Contribute to a respectful, accountable, and collaborative team culture
