About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Hospitalist Physician to provide coverage at a Level 4 trauma facility. The role involves inpatient care for an adult population, with a significant portion being geriatric patients. The physician will be responsible for managing an average daily patient load of approximately 14 patients, including one ICU bed. The practice setting is hospital-based, with potential calls from nursing homes. The physician will be onsite from 0800 to 1800 hours and will have on-call responsibilities outside of these hours, utilizing a beeper/phone call system with a call ratio of 3-6.
Requirements
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
- Active Kentucky medical license.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- DEA registration - must be clear.
- No prior malpractice or licensing issues; clean background preferable for temporary assignments.
- The Self-Query NPDB report must be generated within 30 days of the presentation date.
Responsibilities
- Coverage of the hospital medical unit, including one ICU bed.
- Provide inpatient-focused patient care.
- Manage an average patient load of approximately 14 patients per day.
- Respond to on-call responsibilities outside of physical presence at the hospital.
- Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and patient management.
